On Monday, attorney Tony Buzbee said he has nothing to say on NFL process for disciplining Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson. Thursday, he will have a lot to say, apparently.

Buzbee called a press conference for 1:00 p.m. CT on Thursday. The stated purpose is “to update the public on the status of the Deshaun Watson and Houston Texans affairs and to provide comment regarding ongoing NFL proceedings.”

Several plaintiffs will be present, including Ashley Solis, the first of the massage therapists to sue Watson. The press conference notice says plaintiffs who attend “will be able to share their thoughts.” In addition to the lawsuits filed against Watson, 30 Buzbee customers have settled claims against the Texans, after one of them filed a lawsuit.

The plaintiffs and Buzbee will only be able to share a limited amount of their thoughts, given that the settlement agreements signed by Solis and 22 of the other plaintiffs because the settlements (as Buzbee said on Monday) are confidential. Typically, confidentiality clauses in settlement agreements go wide to prevent any comment on the situation, allowing the parties to say only, “The issue has been resolved.”

Chances are they’ll say more than that on Thursday. if an appeal has been filed.

The press conference is no doubt aimed at pressuring the league to impose a longer suspension on Watson.

Buzbee appeared on ESPN on Tuesday First take. With the Stephen Ross/Dolphins situation taking the top spot on the NFL news pile, I haven’t watched it yet. This will be my reward for successfully completing my journey to Guangzhou, which begins as soon as I press this item.

As rewards, I prefer to have ice cream.
