Google’s August 2022 Pixel Update is on the way

The latest security patches should be coming soon to your Pixel phone

At present, Android fans all over the world are expecting the imminent release of Android 13. But before that gets here, Google’s latest monthly updates for Pixel phones look set to arrive on schedule, bringing security patches to the current Pixel lineup.

Last month may have seen Google briefly delays its update distribution in light of the Independence Day holiday, but the company wastes no time in August, announcing its updates just as we start the month.

The Pixel 4 and newer handsets are ready to receive this new version, which, as you might expect, contains a host of security fixes. None stand out as particularly noteworthy, but we’re still waiting for Google to release its Pixel Community announcement post, which might shed some additional light on the content of the update. Likewise, we’re still waiting for Google to actually distribute the files needed to install this update, and as we release, the company’s repositories Over-the-air updates and factory pictures still have July as their latest release (June in the case of the Pixel 6a).

This doesn’t give us much at the moment, but we’ll be sure to update this post with details of Google’s community announcement and news on these downloads as soon as either is available. .
