A redditor claims to have seen “Blonde” by Andrew Dominik. I have no recollection of it being tested, but I may have missed the mark on this one:
“I saw it because I worked on marketing. It’s…eh. Beautifully shot, very long, very artistic. There are intense sex scenes, but nothing crazy. It’s well done, but it’s a very artistic film – think long, heavy takes with very few lines of dialogue (poetic for some, catchy for others). [De Armas] was very good in it I thought. My problem was more with the writing and the directing. If you like Andrew Dominik’s style (or the JCO book), you’ll probably enjoy it. It has a stage play feel. If this style isn’t for you (and it isn’t for me), you probably won’t. I would probably predict around 76% on Rotten Tomatoes.
As it stands, the film is only supposed to screen at the Venice Film Festival in September. A direct-to-Netflix release is currently planned, no theatrical arc is currently in place. Of course, that could change if reviews are good in Venice and Oscar buzz picks up for the main performance.
The film should last 2 hours and 46 minutes.
