Blocked lanes on I-95 North, DC-295: AM traffic report for DC, NoVA

Here are the latest traffic updates that will impact your morning commute on Monday August 1st.

On the road

At approximately 6:38 a.m., a right lane of eastbound I-66 was blocked by a disabled vehicle past VA-123.

At 6:51 a.m., a crash affected both directions of East Loudoun Street at VA-7. Drivers must follow police instructions.

Around 6:52 a.m., storm debris affected both directions of traffic on Massachusetts Avenue between Little Falls Parkway and Falmouth Road. Drivers must follow police instructions.

At 6:55 a.m. an accident on eastbound VA-7 blocked the right lane past Colvin Run Road/Carpers Farm Way.

At 7:02 a.m. there was a crash on US-50 eastbound at Annandale Road. Drivers should exercise caution.

At 7:19 a.m., a crash was reported on southbound DC-295 near Pennsylvania Avenue SE. Drivers should exercise caution.

At 7:21 a.m., an accident on I-95 northbound after Prince William Parkway blocked the left lane.

At 7:23 a.m., the center lane of I-95 northbound near US-17 was blocked by a truck.

At 7:38 a.m., the left side of I-66 westbound was blocked by a crash past I-495.

At 7:41 a.m. there was an accident involving a bus on East Capitol Street past 55th Street. Only one lane passes.

On rails

On the Orange Line, Minnesota Avenue, Deanwood, Cheverly, Landover and New Carrollton remain closed through Labor Day for a summer platform improvement project. Local and express shuttles are available at the Stade-Armurerie.


Tuesday’s temperature is expected to reach 90 degrees with a heat index around 96 for most of Northern Virginia. It will be partly sunny and humid throughout the day. There will be a steady breeze from the west and northwest.
